- Armor gives Armor Class (AC), which reduces the chance of a monster in hitting you. The lower the AC the better the armor.
- Total AC below 0 also reduces damage.
- Armor also gives Magic Cancellation (MC), which reduces the success chance of touch-based special attacks. The higher the MC the better the protection.
- Robe is a special armor slot that does not stack with body armor. The game uses the superior AC and MC of the body armor and the robe.
- Armor may also give you spell casting penalty, which reduces the chance of casting somatic spells. It does not affect non-somatic spells.
- A crystal plate mail gives you reflection.
