1. Dropping items on the altar will reveal their blessed/uncursed/cursed status.
2. Sacrificing a corpse on the altar may increase your luck. The corpse needs to be a high level monster.
3. Sacrificing a corpse on the altar may grant you an artifact.
4. If you drop potions of water on the altar and pray, they will be converted into holy water.
5. You can sacrifice on an altar of another god than yours to convert it to your deity. The success chance depends on your level.
6. Do not sacrifice on an altar of another god than yours, if it is attended by a priest. Doing so will anger him or her.
