- You need to identify items before you know what they do.
- The items can be blessed, uncursed, or cursed. Uncursed items are normal.
- Blessed items usually grant an additional bonus.
- Cursed items have adverse effects and you cannot remove them once equipped.
- Equipment can also have positive or negative enchantment bonuses.
- Equipment with positive enchantment bonuses work better, while those with negative enchantment work worse.
- A scroll of identify identifies 1-3 items; 3 if the scroll is blessed, 2 if uncursed, and 1 if cursed.
- You can drop items on an altar to identify their blessed/uncursed/cursed status.
