- You can charge a wand of wishing only once.
- Be sure to use a blessed scroll of charging or a fully charging service on the wand to get maximum number of wishes.
- It is often useful to wish for a wand of disintegration, a wand of petrification, or a wand of death to deal with arch-devils and the Wizard of Yendor in Gehennom.
- If you are being slimed by a green slime, you can zap a wand of fire at yourself, and it will cure your sliming. Alternatively, you can use a scroll of fire.
- You can polymorph objects with a wand of polymorph. One charge affects 7/4/1 items based on the wand's blessed/uncursed/cursed status.
