A Library is a GnollHack-specific special room focused heavily on knowledge and magic. The floor is dotted with spellbooks and scrolls, making it a highly desirable location for spellcasting roles. However, it is heavily guarded by intelligent, magic-using monsters.
🗺️ Generation
Libraries can be generated randomly as a special room. The room is distinct for having a high concentration of reading material scattered on the floor.
The library is guarded by one of four groups of intelligent monsters:
- Gnomish wizards
- Gnoll wardens
- Liches
- Tentacled ones (Mind flayers, etc.)
Monsters are typically placed somewhat sparsely, with roughly one monster generated for every two squares.
