Moloch's Sanctum

👉 Moloch's Sanctum is the deepest, most dangerous level of Gehennom, housing the Amulet of Yendor.

Location: The bottom-most level of Gehennom (typically Gehennom level 18–20).

It cannot be accessed by normal stairs; the only way to enter is by performing the Invocation ritual on the vibrating square.

🕯️ Entry Requirements

To access the Sanctum, you must possess three unique items:

1. The Bell of Opening (from the Quest)
2. The Candelabrum of Invocation (from Vlad's Tower)
3. The Book of the Dead (from the Wizard's Tower)

You must locate the vibrating square on the lowest regular level of Gehennom, light the Candelabrum, ring the Bell, and read the Book of the Dead to reveal the staircase down.

ℹ️ Characteristics

• Layout: Uses the undead tileset. It contains a morgue filled with undead, a magic chest, and a sarcophagus. The inner sanctum itself is enclosed by a massive unpassable wall and surrounded by fire traps.
• Inhabitants: The level is swarming with high-level demons (including a balor and marilith), liches, and vampires.
• Moloch's Horde: Guarding the temple are numerous hostile unaligned priests.
• The Sanctum: The inner temple is protected by a secret door. Inside sits the High Priest of Moloch at the unaligned altar of Moloch. He holds the Amulet of Yendor.
